WATERVILLE, ME - Thomas College defeated Daniel Webster College 6-0 in a non-conference field hockey matchup on Thursday at Bernatchez Field. Brittany Premo and Taylor Bergeron each notched two goals in the win.

Thomas found the back of the net ten minutes in on a shot from Premo, beating the keeper low to the left. Just two minutes later, Crystal Cunningham found the twine, putting in a rebound to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead. It wouldn't take long for the Red and Black to add their third goal of the day, when senior Nora Rauch played a ball to Bergeron in front of the net, beating the keeper to the right.

The Eagles saw their best opportunity to find the back of the net in the first half, when a shot was saved by Brittany Fox and the ball was hit around in front of the net until it was finally cleared out. The Terriers went on to tally one more goal in the first half, coming off of the stick of Gabby Martell with an assist from Junior Erin Nelligan, giving Thomas a 4-0 lead into the half.

Thomas added another two tallies in the second half, the first coming at the 40 minute mark, an unassisted goal from Bergeron. Premo added her second goal of the game two minutes later.

Daniel Webster keeper Danielle Melanson faced 24 shots, stopping 18.

Fox picked up the victory for the Terriers, stopping the only shot she faced in the first half. Thomas switched keepers at halftime, putting Jessica Russell in. Russell stopped the only shot she faced.

The Red and Black return to action at home on Saturday, September 20, when they take on Bay Path College. The contest is scheduled to start at 1 P.M.
