WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College cross country teams participated in the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College on Saturday morning.
The University of New England won for the women's side with 37 points, as the Noreasters had the individual victor of the race and the runner-up (Amber Dostie and Heather Eaton).
The Terriers placed 8th (226) for the women's side, with Crystal Peatfield crossing the line first at 24:48 (47th). Alyssa Maggi placed 68th (27:19), while Nicole Ryder finished at the 27:22 mark (69th). Wrapping up Thomas's top five was Samantha Felbaum (28:14, 72nd) and Krysten Quinn(28:33, 74th).
On the men's side there was a three-way tie in first, as Emmanuel College, Saint Joseph's College and University of New England all finished with 67 points. The top overall finisher was Sean Colford of Emmanuel with a time of 28:23.
In the men's race the Terriers placed 5th place overall out of eight schools. Aron MacLean led the Black and Red with an 11th place finish (30:09), while coming in 17th was Evan Boudreau at 30:55. William Janakis took 24th at the 31:42 mark, and Sam Cook finished at 31:56 (28th). Wrapping up the Thomas top five was Cole Barney in 31st place (32:06).
Thomas cross country will be back in action on Saturday, October 18 as they compete in the Maine State Championship at University of Maine at Farmington at 11:45am.
