Eagles Defeat Thomas, 5-0

BANGOR, ME – Thomas was unable to come away with a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory, being shut out by Husson, 5-0 on Saturday night. With the loss, the Terriers fall to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in conference.

The Eagles took just six minutes to find the back of the net, tallying their first marker off the stick of Britt Mellor. The hosts added goals at 13:31 and at 30:07 to jump out to a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Husson added to their lead at 50:19 by Liz Noddlin, then again at 60:03 to come away with the 5-0 win. Despite taking outshooting their opponents 12-10 in the last half, the Terriers were unable to get the ball past Maicee Gustin, who registered 14 saves in the win.

Overall, the Eagles held a 30-19 shot differential, while Thomas had an 11-9 edge in penalty corners.

Senior netminder Sofia Sourgiadakis registered 13 saves in the losing effort.

Thomas returns to action next Saturday as they travel to Saint Joseph's College at noontime.
