Box Score WATERVILLE, ME - Colby College field hockey defeated Thomas College 9-0 in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night at Bill Alfond Field.
Colby scored eight of their nine goals in the first half, with Megan Fortier leading the Mules with three goals in the game, all coming within the first nine minutes of the contest. Caitlin Murray added one goal and two assists for Colby, who improved to 8-4 overall.
Sarah Evans played the first half and made one save for Colby. Michelle Burt stopped three shots in the second half.
The Mules had a 26-5 shot advantage in the game, but Thomas did put four of its five shots on goal. Lauren Hachey had two of the five shots.
Jasmine Bishop, Brittany Fox, and Abbie Charrier combined for five saves for the Terriers (5-9 overall).
Thomas returns to action on Saturday travelling to non-conference foe Rivier for a noontime game.
