WATERVILLE, ME - Crystal Peatfield came into this meet by finishing first for the women's cross country team each and every race, today she didn't disappoint at the Maine State Championship held at Colby Colby College by finishing in 32:59. Her time today bested her first time at Colby on October 5th by five seconds.
Peatfield was followed by Nicole Ryder who came in 27:22 which was 35 seconds better than her first time at Colby earlier this year. Samantha Fellbaum also bested her time from earlier this year by 15 seconds with a time of 29:00. Jasmine Turner and Bea Parenteau came in one spot apart with times of 35:16 and 37:44 respectively.
The race was won by 12 seconds by Bowdoin College's Lucy Skinner with an impressive time of 19:00. Her finish wasn't enough for Bowdoin to take the team win; instead Bates College took top honors with a strong performance by their top five with 4th, 5th 6th, 8th and 9th finishes in the race today to score them 32 points which was 20 points over the host Colby College.
The Terriers placed 10th with 285 points.
The women's team will be back action next Saturday October 26th at Maine Maritime Academy.
