Thomas Comes up Short Versus Husson, 70-49

WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas College (3-7, 2-5 NAC) fell to Husson University (2-8, 2-4 NAC) 70-49 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball contest at the Larry Mahaney gymnasium Tuesday afternoon.

The Terriers struggled early on against the Eagles offensively, as they committed 20 turnovers in the first half, which led to a halftime deficit of 19 points.  

For the Terriers, freshman Megan Pelletier (Winslow, Maine) led the Terriers with 10 points in the first half. Junior Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) scored five points for the Terriers off the bench. Senior guard Kelli Murray (Shawmut, Maine) led the Eagles in scoring with 14 points in the first half. Junior Stephanie Comstock (Bangor, Maine) added eight points.

Thomas fought back in the second half, decreasing the defeat to nine points with 6:52 to play, but the Eagles would close on a 19-7 run to seal the victory.

Pelletier recorded a double-double, finishing with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Elizabeth Goodall (Oakfield, Maine) finished with seven points off the bench. The Eagles had four players in double-figures, led by Murray, who netted 18.

Thomas will return to the court on Thursday as they play host to the University of Maine at Farmington in NAC action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
