Box Score BANGOR, ME- Thomas (6-8, 3-7 NAC) men's basketball were defeated by North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent Husson (10-5, 8-2 NAC) 102-80, Saturday afternoon at Newman Gym.
In an extremely physical game the score hung at 6-4 in favor of Thomas for a few early minutes before Husson started to pull ahead and eventually grew their lead to 47-37 heading into the half. Wes Murphy (Norwich, CT) came up huge with a 4-point play after sinking a 3-pointer, being fouled and making the free throw. That play swung the momentum in favor of Husson for good.
The Eagles would score 55 points to the Terriers 43 in the closing half. Brooks Spaulding (Fairfield, Maine) scored a game high 21 points with four rebounds for Husson, in 15 minutes of play. Eric Modica (Kittery, Maine) added 17 points, nine rebounds, and two steals in 29 minutes in the win.
Stanley Green Jr. (Dorchester, Mass.) was the high scoring Terrier of the afternoon with 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes. Levi Barnes (Skowhegan, Maine) chipped in with 13 points and two rebounds in 23 minutes of play in the loss.
Thomas will return to the hardwood next Friday as they host Castleton at Mahaney Gymnasium at 5:30pm.
