NEWTON, MA- Miranda Tinsman (Belgrade, Maine) lifted the Terriers to a 4-3 victory over Lasell with a goal in the fourth minute of overtime in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey contest Friday afternoon.

The Terriers kicked off the game-scoring when Tinsman netted a goal at the 6:46 mark that was assisted by Brittany Premo (Concord, N.H.). The Lasers would answer with two goals of their own as Smithers would put two in at the 19th and 28th minute marks respectively.

Thomas would start off the second half with two goals just minutes apart, as Premo would tally one at 39:03, and Michelle Greene (Winslow, Maine) would pick up a feed from Ally Kennedy (Winthrop, Maine) to give the Terriers a one goal advantage at the 41st minute in the final half.

Lasell would tie it just two minutes later as Wilson would find the back of the net, beating Thomas keeper Jasmine Bishop (Waterville, Maine).

Tinsman would record her second goal of the contest and the game-winner at 74:08 to give the Terriers their second victory of the 2012 campaign.

Bishop and Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.) would combine for 11 saves, and counterpart Aviles had nine in the defeat for Lasell.

Both squads had 19 shots, but Lasell held a 14-11 advantage in penalty corners.

Thomas will return to action Sunday as they travel to Simmons College for a 1pm start. The Terriers defeated the Sharks last season, 3-2.
