Terriers Blank Johnson State, 3-0

WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas (5-0-1, 2-0) defeated Johnson State (0-8, 0-2 NAC) 3-0 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's soccer match Friday night. Michael Hand (Essex, England) scored two goals to increase his conference leading mark to nine, scoring in all six contests thus far.

Hand scored the game winner just one minute into the contest picking up a loose ball in front of the net, and burying it past Badger keeper Ryan Belen. Dakota Duplisse (Hampden, Maine) would extend the Terrier lead at the 15:24 mark from a cross by Joshua Phelps (Maroochydor, Australia), who would be credited with the assist. Hand would strike again at 23:48 for an unassisted tally to secure the margin of victory,

Mikkail Crockwell (St. David's, Bermuda) would be credited with the shutout victory, his third this season. Crockwell and Winston Trott (Pembroke, Bermuda) would combine for two saves in the conquest, and counterpart Belen would record seven stops for Johnson State.

The Terriers outshot the Badgers by a margin of 24-6, while holding a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Thomas will return to the black field on Sunday as they host in-state foe Bates College at 2:30pm. The Terriers fell to Bates 2-0 last fall in Lewiston.
