Terriers Storm Past Nor'easters 2-0

WATERVILLE,ME- Thomas College (1-0) defeated University of New England (1-1)  2-0, in the season opener of the 2012 season at Alumni Field on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference men's soccer tilt. Michael Hand (Essex, England) registered a goal and an assistant in the victory.

The Terriers came out of the gate in a hurry, as Hand picked up the rebound on a Dakota Duplisse (Hampden, Maine) shot and buried it in the lower left corner just 27 seconds into the match.

Joshua Phelps (Maroochydor, Australia) tallied his first collegiate goal at the 42nd minute on a throughball by Hand, that Phelps skipped over the UNE keeper to seal the victory for the Terriers.

Junior keeper Mikkail Crockwell (St. David's, Bermuda) recorded five saves in the shut-out victory. Aiden McParland had five saves as well in the loss for the Nor'easters.

The Terriers will return to the pitch as they take on the Monks of Saint Joseph's College at home.
