Terriers Topple Eagles 3-0

WATERVILLE, ME- The Terriers (1-4) picked up their first victory of the season Monday evening defeating Daniel Webster (0-3) 3-0 in a non-conference field hockey contest. Ally Kennedy (Winthrop, Maine) scored twice in the victory for Thomas.  

Kennedy scored the first goal of the contest nine minutes into the first half off a pass from Lauren Hachey (Oakland, Maine) on a corner. Her second, which came from nearly the identical play, was also assisted from Hachey at 27:14.

Brittany Premo (Concord, N.H.) would cap off the Terriers scoring affair nine minutes into the second half as she picked up a rebound in front of the net and buried it past the Eagles keeper Danielle Melanson.

The Terriers held a commanding 31-3 advantages in shots, and 20-2 in penalty corners.

Melanson had a game high eight saves in the loss for Daniel Webster, and Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.), Jasmine Bishop (Waterville, Maine), and Brittany Fox(Lovell, Maine) all split time in net for the Terriers.

Thomas field hockey will return to action Friday as they travel to Lasell for a conference match, scheduled for 3pm. The Terriers defeated the Lasers 4-2 last fall in Waterville.
