WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas (4-8, 2-4 NAC) was shutout 2-0 by Saint Joseph's College (7-4, 4-2 NAC) in a North Atlantic Conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon. Terriers goalkeeper Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.) made four saves in the losing effort.

Amanda Celeta gave the Monks the early lead in the first half, firing a shot from the left side of the net for the 1-0 edge just four minutes into the contest. Celeta would strike again at the 7:54 mark from a cross by Meghan Williams to double Saint Joe's lead.

The Monks held a 8-5 advantage in shots over Thomas, including a 8-6 edge in penalty corners.

Lauren Hachey (Oakland, Maine) notched two shots on goal for the Terriers in the loss.

Thomas will return to action next Saturday as they travel to Colby-Sawyer for another conference matchup. Last fall the Terriers defeated the Chargers 4-3 in OT in Waterville.
