Box Score

WATERVILLE, ME- Senior Bre Girard (Westbrook, Maine) scored two goals on senior day in the final regular season contest of the year as the Thomas Terriers (7-9, 4-5 NAC) defeated the Rivier Raiders (2-16, 0-9 NAC) in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey matchup Sunday afternoon.

Thomas got the first tally of the game in the fifth minute on an own goal by Rivier. At the 10:59 mark the Terriers would strike again, as fellow senior Ally Kennedy (Winthrop, Maine) found Girard in front of the net, burying it past the Raider keeper.

Rivier would cut the deficit at 25:32 as Ashley Ruocco got a shot past Terrier netminder Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.). Just a few minutes later however, Girard would pick up her second goal, which would be the eventual game-winner, and Kennedy would be credited with the assist.

Kennedy would get her turn to score on senior day in the second half, as she picked up a feed from Michelle Greene (Winslow, Maine) to add to the Terrier lead.

Thomas held a commanding 17-8 advantage in shots, while taking 13 penalty corners to the Raiders nine.

Jasmine Bishop (Waterville, Maine) was credited with the victory in net for Thomas while her counterpart Makenzie Flagg suffered the loss, while having a game high six saves.

The Terriers will await the final NAC seeding to find out who they will face in the quarterfinals later this week.
