Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine- Thomas College (6-9, 3-5 NAC) forward Brittany Premo (Concord, N.H.) scored with 7:49 remaining in the second overtime period to lead the Terriers to a 2-1 win over the University of Maine at Farmington (6-7, 6-2 NAC) in a field hockey matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
Premo took advantage of a loose ball in front of the UMaine-Farmington cage following a Terrier penalty corner. With the Beavers unable to successfully clear the ball, Premo put a shot from the left side into the far corner of the UMF cage to end the game.
After UMaine-Farmingtonjumped out to 1-0 lead with 13:15 remaining in the first half, Premo also scored the equalizer for Thomas with 10:49 left in the opening stanza.
The Beavers' goal was scored by senior Emma Daniel (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough), who found the back of the cage on a long shot off a pass from Lily Barry (Hermon, Maine/Hermon).
UMaine-Farmington outshot Thomas 15-8, and had a commanding 21-7 advantage in penalty corners. Terrier goalie Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.) was credited with eight saves for Thomas, while UMF's Curran Brierley (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) notched two saves.
Thomas wraps up its regular season on Sunday when it hosts Rivier College at noon.
