Box Score Waterville, Maine - The Thomas College women's basketball team picked up their second win of the season Saturday afternoon defeating the Badgers of Johnson State 73-52 in front of the home crowd. Junior Jasmine Bishop picked up a double-double with 16 rebounds and 15 points while senior Karin Bird scored a game high 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Johnson's Brittany Robertson scored a team high of 22 points for the Badgers in the loss.
Bishop got the Terriers (2-9, 2-4 NAC) offense rolling scoring the first six points for the Terriers that gave them an early lead that they held onto for the entire game. Bird chipped in 12 first half points to help the Thomas carry a 36-26 halftime lead over the Badgers (2-9, 0-5 NAC).
The Terriers offense continued to roll in the second as did the Terriers defense as they produced 16 steals and out rebounded the Badgers 32-28. The Badgers were unable to slow Bird as the NAC's leading scorer tallied 17 second half points to wrap up the Thomas win.
The Terriers will take on NAC rival Husson University on Tuesday January 10th at 7:30 p.m. on the road. That same day and time the Badgers will take on Green Mountain in NAC Women's Basketball action.
