MMA Rolls Past Terriers

Castine, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team dropped a 78-45 North Atlantic Conference loss Thursday evening to the Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy. With the loss Terriers fall to 2-13 and 2-7 in the NAC, while the Mariners improve to 8-6 and 5-3 in the NAC.

The Terriers got a 16 point and five rebound performance from senior guard Karin Bird. Sophomore Lindsay Fry grabbed a team high seven rebounds and fellow sophomore Kate Thibodeau scored seven points and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

MMA led by five, 15-10, midway through the first half, but the Mariners went on a 12-0 run that lasted nearly seven minutes. MMA's Maggie Smith accounted for eight of her points in the decisive run. At the break the Mariners held a 34-16 lead over the Terriers. The second half saw the Mariners expand their as they continue to cruise to victory.

The Terriers will host the Eagles of Husson University on Saturday in their second NAC match-up of the season with the Eagles.
