RIC Shut's Out Women's Soccer

Providence, R.I. – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell in their season opener this afternoon on the road at Rhode Island College, 2-0. This afternoons outing marked the first game for the Terriers under the leadership of first year head coach Deb Biche. Biche announced her return to coaching last month after previously serving at the Terriers Athletic Director.

The Anchorwomen (2-0) hit the back of the net in the 30th minute when sophomore Lauren Maisano slipped a free kick just over the head of Thomas (0-1, 0-0 NAC) goalie Kate Thibodeau.

At the break the scoreboard read Thomas 0, RIC 1.

The Anchorwomen continued their offensive charge in the second half when first year Danielle Peloquin finished a Megan Saucier cross, upping their lead plus one.

Thibodeau stayed busy this afternoon as she made 11 saves against 23 shots.

The Terriers will finish up their two game road trip with a 10:30 a.m. match up with Regis (Mass.).
