Gorham, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell 8-1 in a non-conference match with the Huskies of the University of Southern Maine. The loss is the second in a row for the Terriers and drops them to record of 1-6 (1-3 NEAC East) while the USM Huskies improve to 3-3.
The Huskies controlled the match from the start earning three straight points in doubles action to lead the Terriers 3-0 before heading into singles competition.
Thomas freshman Jessica Bowen recorded the lone point for the Terriers taking a hard-won 6-4, 0-6, 11-9 win at the top of the singles line-up. Bowen defeated Southern Maine number one sophomore Mary Moran.
The Terriers will travel to Colby-Sawyer this Saturday for a NEAC East Division match at high noon.
