Waterville, Maine - The Terriers (5-12, 3-6 NAC) got 20-plus points from two of their starters but it was still not enough as Castleton (12-7, 6-2 NAC) captured the win, 90-72. Karin Bird (Lee, Maine) led all scorers with 29 points.

The Spartans would use a well-balanced attack to extend their lead late in the first half. Alyssa Leonard would shoot perfect from the field (5-5) in the first half to give Castleton a 14 point lead at the half. Bird dropped 16 in the first on 7-13 shooting.

Kellie Martel (Cambridge, Maine) would catch fire in the second half scoring 18 of her 20 points on 6-11 three-point shots. Castleton continued to push the ball down the court off missed rebounds to extend their lead. Six Spartans finished in double figures.

Thomas continued to shoot well from the free-throw line connecting on 75% (15-20) of their opportunities while the Spartans shot 55% (37-67) from the field.

The Terriers will next play tomorrow February 5th at 4 p.m. when they host Green Mountain (3-15, 1-7 NAC).
