Thomas Sends Seniors out on a High Note

Waterville, Maine - The Terriers (8-12, 6-6 NAC) were able to win a big game at home this evening defeating the Hornets (10-11, 6-6 NAC) 94-85. In their only other meeting, Lyndon was able to take the victory but tonight it was Thomas' turn.

In the first half, Thomas was able to jump to an early lead and use solid defensive play to limit the Hornet's opportunities. Karin Bird was able to drop 24 points in the half including shooting 10-11 (91%) from the foul line. Lyndon used a balance attack to stay close to Thomas; at the half the Terriers led 51-39.

Thomas used their stellar foul shooting to keep their lead in the second half going 25-28 (89.3%) in the game. The Terriers also controlled the ball and did not allow many turnovers to keep their lead as Lyndon started to make a comeback.

Lyndon was led by Naomi White's 20 points on 6-8 (75%) shooting from the field. The Terriers had five players finish in double figures with Bird leading the way with 34 points.

On a night honoring Thomas' seniors, Kellie Martel finished with 23 points, Alexis Evans finished with 12 points, Mallorie Blakney had 10 points, and Ashley Allen had 5 points in their final regular season home game.  

The Terriers will next play Tuesday February 15th at 7:30 p.m. when they travel to face Maine Maritime (14-9, 8-4 NAC).
