Box Score Brunswick, Maine -- Jarrad DeVaughn dropped a game high 29 points for Thomas (8-10, 4-4 NAC) in a non-conference loss to Bowdoin (13-5, 2-3 NESCAC). With the game tied late in the game, Bowdoin's Maximilian Staiger scored the go-ahead basket with 12 seconds remaining for the win.
The Terriers controlled much of the first half thanks in part to their three-point shooting efforts. Thomas connected on eight three-point shots to give them a large lead. But ending out the half, the Polar Bears went on an 8-0 run to cut Thomas' lead to only three, 38-35.
In the second half, both teams would battle hard for the lead resulting in 11 lead changes and five ties on the scoreboard. Isaiah Brathwaite hit a three-point basket with 30 seconds remaining in the game to give the Terriers an 82-81 lead. After Staiger gave Bowdoin the lead, Devaughn drove the lane for Thomas and was fouled. He could not connect on his free-throws, missing them both to secure the win for Bowdoin.
Ryan O'Connell and Will Hanley led the Polar Bears with 24 points each; Hanley had a game high 17 rebounds. Senior Andrew Duncanson scored 22 points for the Terriers who shot 8-12 from the field. Thomas shot 14-31 (45.2%) on their three-point opportunities for the game.
The Terriers will next host Castleton (11-7, 6-1 NAC) this Friday, 6PM at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
