New London, N.H. – The Thomas College women's basketball team dropped at 87-55 decision to North Atlantic Conference newcomer Colby-Sawyer, Friday evening. NAC leading scored Karin Bird was held to 4-18 from the field but still brought in a game high 25 points as she went 17-19 from the free throw line.

With the loss the Terriers fall to 1-7 on the season and slip to 1-2 in the NAC. The Chargers improve to 7-2 and 3-0 in the NAC.

Colby-Sawyer jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, but saw it quickly evaporate as the Terriers responded with a 9-0 run keyed by a pair of Cassie Manning three-pointers and a trey by Ashley Matchett. The teams played back and forth action over the next several minutes before Colby-Sawyer went ahead 29-16 half way through the frame. The Terriers tried to chip away, but the Chargers offense finished the half on a 10-2 run to lead 44-24 at the break.

The Chargers had no problem holding on to the lead through the second half as the Terriers committed 24 turnovers which led to 38 Colby-Sawyer points.

The Terriers will wrap up their two game road trip with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off against the Pilgrims of New England College Saturday March 10th afternoon.
