Box Score Waterville, Maine—Thomas College men's soccer team shut out the Owls of the University of Maine at Presque Isle 2-0 in a non-conference match up on Alumni Field Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Michael Hand scored two goals to lead the Terriers to victory.
The first half remained scoreless despite the Terriers (8-5, 4-3 NAC) outshooting the Owls (3-9) 15-to-3.
Three minutes into the second half Hand scored the eventual game winning goal for the Terriers when he finished a pass from freshman Mattias Schyberg. Hand added some insurance for the Terriers when he netted his second goal off of a pass from fellow sophomore Matt Ford at 55th minute.
Sophomore goal keeper Mikkail Crockwell recorded six saves, and picks up his seventh clean sheet of the season in the win. Despite making five saves Joshua MacKinnon shoulders the loss for the visiting Owls.
The Terriers travel to the Mariners of Maine Maritime on October 19th for a 7 p.m. North Atlantic Conference match up. The Owls return to action on October 22 when the travel to Fisher College for a 3 p.m. game.
