Box Score Henniker, N.H. – The Thomas College men's soccer team was shutout 3-0 Saturday afternoon by the Pilgrims of New England College. The loss is the second in a row for the Terriers who drop to a record of 4-3 (1-2 NAC) while the Pilgrims improve to 5-4-1 (1-1-1 NAC) and pick up their first win in the North Atlantic Conference.
The Pilgrims jumped out 1-0 just 15 minutes into the game when a Sean Walsh shot bounced off the cross bar and into the goal.
The Pilgrims got some insurance just before halftime and Julian Yourawski found the back of the net in the 40th minute.
NEC held a 2-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw a defensive struggle for the majority of the second half until NEC's Diego Saldeno put in a loose ball in the 79th minute giving the Pilgrims the 3-0 lead.
Thomas freshman Mattias Schyberg led the Terriers offensive attack with three shots on goal. Sophomore goal keeper Mikkail Crockwell shoulders the loss despite a nine save performance.
The Terriers will be back at it when they square off against Colby-Sawyer on Sunday October 2nd.
