Box Score Waterville, Maine - - The Eagles of Husson University (8-10, 6-1 NAC) got off to a quick lead and never looked back as they defeated the Terriers (5-11, 3-5 NAC) 101-74. The loss is the third loss in a row for the Terriers.
Junior guard Karin Bird took control of the scoring for the host team with 20 of the team's 30 points in the first half. Bethany Sevey drained 28 points for Husson in the first half.
At the end of the first half it was the Eagles over the Terriers 57-30.
In the second half, the Terriers held the Eagles to 44 points but it wasn't enough to slow the Eagles offense.
Bird finished with a double-double scoring a team high 33 points; just three points short of tying her career high and 11 rebounds. Ashley Matchett finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Eagles' Sevey recorded a double-double with 43 points and 10 rebounds both team highs. Kelli Murray finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Terriers next game is Friday February 4th at 8 p.m. when they host Castleton (10-7, 5-1 NAC).
