Box Score January 29, 2011, Waterville, Maine -- Senior guard Isaiah Brathwaite (Farmington, Maine) hit a career milestone when he drained a three pointer in the second half for his 1,000th career point, but is wasn't enough to propel Thomas (8-8, 4-3 NAC) to victory as they fell to Maine Maritime (8-8, 3-3 NAC ) 81-73.
Maine Maritime jumped out to a 24 -12 lead over Thomas in the first half as Paul Campbell led the Mariners with 10 first half points. The Mariners took a 38-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the second half Thomas started off slow not making a basket until the 14:52 mark where Franklin Salvador (Somerville, Mass.) hit a three pointer to make it 51-27. At the seven minute mark, Brathwaite hit his 1,000 career point (three pointer) to make it 70-55. Brathwaite's milestone sparked the Terriers; as they rallied back but it wasn't enough as Maine Maritime held on to win 81-73.
Andrew Duncanson (Portland, Maine) led Thomas with 23 points and nine rebounds; Salvador was second on the team with 22 points and four rebounds.
Maine Maritime Shawn Dostie recorded a double – double with a team high 28 points and 21 rebounds; while Campbell finished up with 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Terriers take on the Eagles of Husson University (13-4, 6-0 NAC) on Monday January 31st, at 7:30 p.m.
