Waterville, Maine -- The Terriers began their 2010 home opener with a regional match against the Anchormen of Rhode Island College. Thomas recently came off a 1-0 defeat from Green Mountain College.

The first half saw both teams play a high intense defensive match. Only one goal was scored in the first half by Jessica Graham of RIC. The Anchormen would shoot against Thomas' First Year goalkeeper Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, ME) 9 times. Thibodeau made 8 of her 17 saves this period.

The second half Rhode Island College would score five more times with Graham scoring again. Ashley Choiniere would begin the first half with a goal. Alexis Smith would score a hat-trick in the second half alone to put the Anchormen on top for the remainder of the game.

Kim Migliara (Mastic, NY) would score the only goal for Thomas on a penalty kick after she was taken down in the box.

The Terriers will next host Unity in a non-conference match this Saturday October 2, 2010 at 2:00pm.
