The Thomas College field hockey team hosted St. Joseph's College at Alumni Field in Waterville, ME on Saturday, September 20th. The St. Joseph's Monks, a conference rival to the Terriers were the victors of the match as they defeated the Terriers 2-1.

The first goal of the contest was scored by St. Joseph's Kayla Nowell, assisted by Jillian Kimball. St. Joseph's jumped ahead to an early 1-0 lead, but it did not take long for the Terriers to respond with a goal of their own. Thomas sophomore Kellie Martel added the unassisted equalizer in the 39th minute of the contest. St. Joseph's would get the go ahead goal from Kelly Emerson, assisted by Alyssa Dunn during the 44th minute.

Thomas goalkeeper Megan Denby racked up 11 saves in the contest against the rival Monks. The Terriers fall to 0-1 in conference play. Their next game will be on Wednesday, September 24th when they travel to Farmington to take on the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers. The game will start at 4:00 p.m.
