Tom Marshall joined Thomas College as an Athletic Trainer in 2022, and was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2025. He enters his four year at Thomas.
He received his bachelor’s in athletic training from the University of New England in 2019. He completed his master’s in athletic training – advanced clinical practice in 2020 from East Stroudsburg University (ESU). While attending ESU, he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Kutztown University. At Kutztown, he primarily worked with both the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field team as well as the volleyball team.
After graduating, Tom returned to Maine as the sole athletic trainer at Bangor High School. The following year he joined the sports medicine team at Colby College. While at Colby, he worked with the men’s and women’s rugby teams and the women’s hockey team. He was part of the women’s hockey team’s first NCAA appearance and the most wins in program history. He was a member of the Colby Peak Performance team that included a variety of medical professionals working together to give a wholistic approach to help athletes reach their peak performance.
Tom is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and likes to take an active approach to rehabilitation.
Since joining Thomas College, Tom has helped grow the sports medicine department by working collaboratively with Maine General Health to provide on-site physical therapy services.
