Mack Sampson was named as the Assistant Director of Sports Information and Athletic Communications in May of 2024 and now enters his second year in the role.

A few of Sampson's primary responsibilities include gameday coordination and operations, athletics website management, athletics archives, conference nominations, as well as writing recaps and press releases. He can be found at nearly every home game coordinating student workers, announcing into the microphone, running a scoreboard, or recording and inputting statistics for the NCAA.

A former student at Thomas College, Sampson had previously been heavily involved in the athletic department and has taken on various different roles since the spring of 2021. Sampson served as a sports information intern through the athletics department in 2022/23, was the institution's first ever Graduate Assistant in 2023/24, and was a key part of the athletic event operations staff throughout his entire time as a student.

Sampson was named as the 2023 recipient of the David Roussel Unsung Hero Award, an award given out annually to one person who has gone above and beyond for the athletics department, most of the time without being asked to do so. He could be found setting up fields, working at a game when student workers are not available, or managing a day-to-day operation in some aspect for the athletics department.

Sampson has also held roles with the Maine Principals Association in recent years, working at important events such as at the Portland sites of the 2023/24 and 2024/25 Class AA, A, and B Maine High School Basketball Tournaments. Sampson also served as the public address announcer and music coordinator for the 2024 and 2025 Class A Maine High School Softball Regional Championships and 2024 Class A State Championship, as well as the official scorer, public address announcer, and music coordinator at the 2024 Class C Maine High School Soccer Regional Championships.

Sampson received his bachelors degree in three years and graduated from Thomas in 2023, majoring in Sport Management with minors in Coaching and Finance. Sampson went on to receive his Master's degree from Thomas in Business Administration in the spring of 2024.
