Sukeforth Strength and Conditioning Room Operations Staff

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service to all visitors –Thomas Varsity and Club Athletics teams, Thomas students, staff and faculty. 

  • Keep the facility clean, organized, and safe always: Cleaning, equipment care, or facility organization tasks are to be completed every 45 minutes. Staff must be willing to hold visitors accountable to the facility’s rules of use. 

  • Wear their uniform for EVERY shift assigned – this includes the provided Staff Shirt and athletic footwear. No open-toed shoes or boots. 

  • Work closely with other Student Employees and Professional Staff members to ensure smooth function of the building’s recreational users. 

  • Work with their Staff Supervisors and Lead Supervisor on assigned projects within the facility when necessary – bulletin boards, social media, posters, special events etc. 

  • Required to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with their supervisor(s) 
     

Hours:

  • Shifts will be assigned during times when the Sukeforth Sports Center S&C facility is open during the academic year; students are not required to meet shift responsibilities during scheduled campus breaks. 

  • Hours may be adjusted depending on needs assessment. 

Qualifications:  

  • Must hold a current CPR/AED/First Aid certification. 

  • Open to flexible hours  

  • Serve as a positive role model. 

  • High level of professionalism & Accountability. 

  • General monitoring of the building facility and equipment during assigned shifts; to include redirecting inappropriate behavior and confronting policy violations. 

  • Document safety issues and concerns & Safety conscious  

  • Contacting appropriate professional staff in an emergency 

  • Ability to read and follow directions in detail. 

  • Efficient, responsible, detail oriented, organized, quick study, and reliable. 

  • Discretion and confidentiality must be used at all times. 

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 

  • Ability to confront. 

  • Team member 

  • Basic computer skills
