Men's Cross Country Earns First Place at 2026 Thomas Invitational

Waterville, ME - The Thomas College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the Thomas College Invitational on Saturday at the Sukeforth Family Trail System. The men's team claimed first place with 22 points, while three Thomas runners competed in the women's 4K.

How it Happened:

Men's Cross Country
  • The Terriers claimed the top spot in the men's 6K, finishing with 22 points and a team time of 1:50:45.
  • Thomas placed five runners among the top seven finishers, finishing ahead of Maine Maritime, Central Maine CC, Husson, and Maine-Presque Isle.
  • Charley Flees led the Terriers, finishing second overall with a time of 21:06.1.
  • Gage Bruns followed closely behind, placing third overall in 21:46.6.
  • Jeffrey Flees crossed the finish line fourth overall with a time of 22:04.7.
  • Michael Johnson finished seventh overall in 22:35.8.
  • Alwin Andree rounded out Thomas' scoring five, placing eighth overall with a time of 23:12.3.
  • Isaiah Sabean finished 12th overall in 23:57.4, while Trevor Nichols placed 15th in 24:49.4.
  • Zackary Braun also competed for the Terriers, finishing in 34:28.5.

Women's Cross Country
  • The Women's Cross Country team was represented by three runners in the 4K, with Karissa Cotoia leading the Terriers in 19:36.1.
  • Cotoia finished 23rd overall with a time of 19:36.1.
  • Alyson Ellis followed in 37th place, crossing the finish line in 23:29.0.
  • Sadie Pomeroy finished 38th overall with a time of 23:30.6.

What's Next:
  • Both teams will return to action next Saturday, October 10, at the UMPI Invitational in Presque Isle, Maine. The Terriers will continue their preparation for the 2026 NAC Championship on October 31.
