Waterville, ME- The Thomas Men's JV Soccer team was back in action at home, hosting Central Maine Community College this past Thursday night, October 1st. The Terriers picked up a 3-0 win in a dominant offensive game, ending with 21 shots.
How it Happened:
- After the Terriers dominated the first half with nine shots on goal, they were held scoreless by the Mustangs' defense going into the second half 0-0.
- Ten minutes into the second half, Terrier Lwandle Mkwanazi scored a right-footed, low-driven finish into the back of the net.
- Soon after, the Terriers were awarded a penalty kick, taken by Remy Claeys, who fired into the bottom right corner.
- With 26 minutes left in the game, the Mustangs attempted to stop a shot but had an unfortunate deflection into their own goal, putting the Terriers up 3-0.
- The Terriers also gave up an own goal to stop a promising cross, which resulted in an unlucky deflection putting the Mustangs on the board 3-1.
- The Mustangs scored with a shot from outside the 18-yard box soon after, trying to mount a comeback, but came up short.
What's Next:
- The Terriers are back home, hosting Saint Joseph's College of Maine Monks this Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. on October 4th.
