Club NECBA Baseball Secures Hard-Fought 2-1 Victory Over UMaine Augusta

9/16/2025 6:37:00 PM

Waterville, ME -  Terriers NECBA Club Baseball would host the University of Maine–Augusta Moose on Tuesday, September 16, and would prevail with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in a nine-inning thriller.

How it Happened
  • Wyatt Smith would make a strong start on the mound for the Terriers, allowing only four hits, and earning three strikeouts through six complete innings.
  • Both Terriers and the Moose would remain scoreless through four complete innings, but it would be the Terriers who would strike first to take a 2-0 lead after back to back runs scored in the bottom of the 5th and 6th inning.
  • Despite only having four hits as a team, Logan Bader and Nick Griffel would play key roles in the Terriers offense, with Bader finishing the contest with one hit, one RBI, two walks, and two steals, and Griffel earning a hit and a run scored.
  • Bryce Dillon would come in to relieve Smith in the top of the 6th inning, allowing no hits and earning three strikeouts through two complete innings.
  • The Terriers would look to end the game in the top of the ninth inning, bringing in closer Andrew Pruell for the remaining three outs of the contest.
  • Despite a run scored by the Moose in the top of the 9th, the Terriers would finish the game on their terms, turning a double play off a sac fly to right field, and relaying the throw home to get the runner out and take a 2-1 victory over the Moose.
  • Pruell would earn the save for Terriers in the win over UMaine Augusta
