Women’s Soccer Earns Dominant Win Against SUNY Cobleskill

Waterville, ME – Women's Soccer earned a dominant 3-1 win against the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers on Sunday, September 14th, 2025.

How it Happened:
  • The Fighting Tigers struck first in the 6th minute, taking a 1-0 lead.
  • Just six minutes later Briley Rutledge took over the game, scoring her first goal after a great pass from Trinity Bean to tie things at 1-1.
  • One minute later Rutledge scored again, giving the Terriers a 2-1 lead.
  • The Fighting Tigers battled back, taking four shots in the next four minutes – one of which needed to be saved by Emily Rock.
  • The next real chance came in the 38th minute, when Rutledge had her shot saved by the Fighting Tigers goalkeeper.
  • The last chance of the half for either team came with two minutes remaining, when a shot from the Fighting Tigers forced another save from Rock.
  • The Terriers dominated the second half, with several shots from Rutledge and Ally Southwick both being denied by the Fighting Tigers goalkeeper.
  • In the 67th minute a pass from Izzy Byram found Alexandra Wallingford, who made a great turn and slotted the ball in the net to make it 3-1.
  • The Terriers earned several more chances in the remaining 23 minutes, but none found the back of the net.
  • The Terriers were ultimately able to earn a 3-1 win, going 2-0 overall this weekend.
