Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women’s Lacrosse Narrowly Defeated by Farmington on Senior Day

Waterville, ME – Women's Lacrosse was narrowly defeated by the University of Maine Farmington Beavers at home on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. The final score was 8-10 in the team's annual "Senior Day", where we honored and celebrated our graduating seniors Mary LaRochelle, Mara Gentry, Elise Syphers, Kaitlyn Paul, Emily Wallingford, and Sadie Dorr.

How it Happened:
  • The Beavers took the first lead of the game five minutes after several Terrier green cards.
  • Emily Wallingford and Mary LaRochelle would combine for two goals in the next three minutes to take a 2-1 lead.
  • The Beavers responded with two goals of their own, making it 3-2 with four minutes to play in the first quarter.
  • Despite another goal from the Beavers, the Terriers closed out the quarter well, with Isabella Pelletier and Mara Gentry both scoring within seconds of each other to tie things up at 4-4 headed into the second.
  • Gentry was able to put away a free position attempt shot six minutes into the second quarter to give the Terriers a 5-4 lead.
  • However, the Beavers would respond almost instantly with a goal of their own.
  • The Beavers closed out the half with two goals, but LaRochelle and Pelletier were able to connect on a shot late in the quarter to make it a one goal game at halftime.
  • LaRochelle scored again three minutes in to the second half, tying things at 7-7.
  • The Beavers responded right back with three unanswered goals to end the quarter with a score of 10-7.
  • The Terriers were able to lock in defensively in the fourth quarter, with Bristol Sine making some impressive saves down the stretch.
  • With seven minutes remaining in the game LaRochelle scored her third goal of the game, but it wasn't enough as the Terriers eventually fell 8-10.
