Lynn, MA - The NECBA Club Baseball team battled UMaine in the NECBA Semifinals but suffered a tough 6-7 loss, as the Black Bears delivered a heartbreaking walk-off in the bottom of the seventh inning to eliminate the Terriers from the NECBA Playoffs.
How it Happened:
- The Terriers and Black Bears would remain scoreless after two complete innings, but the Terriers would find themselves down 0-1 after the Black Bears drove a run home in the bottom of the third inning.
- The Black Bears would extend their lead to 0-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning with 2 runs scored, but the Terriers would respond in the 5th inning with 2 runs of their own to make it a 2-3 game.
- Despite another run scored by the Black Bears shortly after, the Terriers took a 6-4 lead in the top of the sixth after plating six combined runs over the fifth and sixth innings.
- The Terriers would be unable to score any insurance runs in the top of the 7th inning and would look to hold on to advance to the NECBA Championship.
- But the Black Bears would ultimately break the Terriers hearts in the bottom of the 7th inning, scoring three runs to walk the game off by a final score of 6-7, ending the Terriers playoff bid.
- NECBA Club Baseball concludes their fall season after accumulating a 13-9 record and some incredible moments and wins.
