Castine, Maine – The Thomas College Women's Soccer team were defeated in their first North Atlantic Conference matchup of the season to the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners by a score of 4-0 on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.

Thomas College: Conference (0-1), Overall (0-1) 

Maine Maritime Academy: Conference (1-0), Overall (2-1-1) 

How It Happened:  

• The Terriers would have an opportunity in the 14th minute but were unable to capitalize.

• The Mariners would get on the board first with a goal in the 36th minute, putting the Terriers down 0-1.

• The Mariners would score just two minutes later, and would take a 2-0 lead at the half.

• Sophomore Emily Rock would make two impressive saves off four shots on goal in the first half for the Terriers.

• Senior Mary LaRochelle would have an opportunity just a few minutes into the second half, but her shot would be saved by the Mariners keeper 

• The Mariners would keep the pressure on the Terriers for the remainder of the game, including scoring two goals in the second half, to hand the Terriers their first conference loss of the season.

What's Next: 

• The Terriers will try to bounce back at home against the University of Maine Farmington Beavers on Wednesday, September 17th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM.
