Big First Half Leads Eagles Past Women’s Lacrosse on Senior Night

Waterville, ME – A big first half from the Husson University Eagles led them past Women's Lacrosse by a score of 5-16. This matchup served as Women's Lacrosse's Senior Night, where they honored all graduating seniors.

How it Happened:
  • The Eagles got off to a hot start, scoring three goals in a span of three minutes to start the game.
  • The Terriers had no answer, as the Eagles took an 8-0 lead into the second quarter.
  • Mary LaRochelle opened up the second quarter with an unassisted goal to make it 1-8.
  • The Eagles responded with five unanswered goals to make it 13-1 at halftime.
  • The Terriers played much better overall in the second half, and Bristol Sine came up with some huge saves down the stretch.
  • Six minutes into the third quarter, Sage Brown found LaRochelle, who scored to make it 2-13.
  • Emily Wallingford would score late in the third quarter, and the Eagles held a comfortable 13-3 lead going into the fourth.
  • The Terriers shut the Eagles down in the third, not allowing a single goal in the 15-minute span.
  • The fourth quarter was largely back-and-forth, with Brown assisting Samantha Snow two minutes in to make it 4-13.
  • The Eagles responded with three unanswered goals, but Mara Gentry would close out the scoring with a minute left.
  • The final score was 5-16 in what was likely the final meeting between these teams this season.
