Waterville, ME – On Women's Soccer annual "Senior Night", the seniors were responsible for every goal and assist in a huge 3-0 victory over the University of Maine Presque Isle Owls on Saturday, October 26
th, 2024.
Thomas College: Overall (2-10-1), NAC (2-7-1)
University of Maine Presque Isle: Overall (3-9-2), NAC (1-7-1)
How it Happened:
- The Owls had the first two opportunities of the game, as Emilee Ireland was forced to make two good saves in the opening minutes.
- In the 12th minute a ball from an Owl defender found the feet of Emily Wallingford, who blasted home a goal to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
- Ireland was tested twice again in the next 12 minutes but made two more good saves to keep it 1-0.
- In the final two minutes the Terriers had two opportunities, but both attempts from free kicks were saved by the Owls goalkeeper.
- The Terriers started the second half well, taking two shots on goal that were ultimately saved.
- In the 73rd minute Emily Gutierrez was able to dribble around an Owl defender and slotted home a well-placed shot to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead.
- With three minutes left in the game Taylor Krawiecki found Gutierrez, who struck again, this time from a long-range rocket that found its way to the top right corner of the net.
- Women's Soccer went on to win 3-0, ending their season with a huge victory.
