Presque Isle, ME - This past weekend on Sunday, September 17th the Terriers took place in the North Atlantic Conference Preview Race at the University of Maine Presque Isle in preparation for the NAC Championship Meet, which takes place on Saturday, October 28
th. The women's team participated in the 6k while the men's team ran an 8k.
Women's Cross Country:
Racing against Husson University, UMaine Farmington, UMaine Presque Isle, and Maine Maritime, all conference opponents the Terriers took 4
th place finishing with a final team score of 89 points.
Savaughn Kungxat-Facenda was the first Terrier to cross the finish line ending with a time of 30:00.3 minutes. She was shortly followed by Senior Amanda Winslow timing in at 30:48.5.
Emma Landry and
Rebekah Ireland were the next to cross just a second from each other marking at 34:50.3 and 34:51.0. The final two Terriers coming in together were
Elizabeth Brewer (44:17.2) and
Kaitlynn Bean (44:49.8).
Men's Cross Country:
Men's Cross Country faced the same NAC opponents as the women's did and ended placing 5
th in the race with an overall score of 116 points. Senior
Matthew Shea finished the 4.97 miles first for the Terriers with a competitive time of 30:47.3 minutes. First Year
Aidan Mills was the next to cross two minutes later at 32:58.6.
Owen Hargrove shortly followed Mills as he ended the 8k timing in at 33:41.3. First years
Zachary White (40:22.3) and
Evan Thomas (46:51.2) rounded out the day for the Terriers.
