PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's golf team defeated UMaine-Presque Isle 318-352 in their season opener on Saturday. Evan Parsons (Woolwich, Maine) took medalist honors for the first time in his career, edging out teammate Kent Johnson (Carmel, Maine) by one stroke.
Parsons shot a +5 77 on the day to outpace the rest of the field, with Johnson trailing a stroke behind at 78 (+6). Two more Terriers followed as Thomas claimed the top four scores of the day. Adam Dubail (Gray, Maine) shot a +9 81, while newcomer Dylan Cunningham (Oakland, Maine) shot an 82 (+10) in his collegiate debut. Two other first year players competed for the Terriers, with Benjamin Gosselin (Lewiston, Maine) coming in eight and Zackary Pelletier (Poland, Maine) finished 12th.
Thomas will host the Owls on Sunday, October 11 at Waterville Country Club at 11:00 AM.
