WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College cross country teams hosted UMaine-Presque Isle for the Thomas Invitational, sponsored by Higgins and Bolduc Agency, on Saturday afternoon. Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) won his second race against UMPI this season, finishing with a time of 31:52 on the 8K course. Additionally, scores from this race were entered into a virtual meet, hosted by Thomas, that was open to schools in the North Atlantic Conference. The Terrier men registered a second-place team finish in the virtual meet.

"I'm so happy that we were able to host UMPI here today as well as compete virtually with our friends in the North Atlantic Conference," said Cross Country Coach Ian Wilson. "Our team competed very strongly on a difficult, choppy course here today and I'm very proud of the results we had."

The Thomas men swept the first six spots of the live race against UMPI, with Ryan Beckerman (Bethel, Maine) coming in second and Owen McQuarrie (Presque Isle, Maine) coming in third. Matthew Shae (Ellsworth, Maine) came in fourth followed by Connor Pellerin (China, Maine) in fifth. Harrison Mosher took a sixth-place finish, while Cameron Meserve (Waterford, Maine) and Alister Piccini (Winslow, Maine) came in eighth and ninth, respectively. Nicholas Vacco (Pembroke, N.H.) rounded out the Thomas lineup with and eleventh-place finish.

In the women's race, senior Audrey Kimball (St. Albans, Maine) ran in her final race, finishing in fourth place. Sophia Lingar (Danville, N.H.) competed in her first collegiate race, coming in sixth.
