Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) scored five times to lead the Thomas College women's soccer team to an 8-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
Hoving scored twice in the first half in the 11th and 23rd minute, with a Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H.) penalty kick in between to put Thomas up 3-0 at the half.
Hoving picked up her third in the 52nd minute, then, after another Contigiani PK, scored twice in less than a minute for her fourth and fifth of the game. Julia Smith (Durham, Maine) scored off a feed from Makenzie Carlow (Winslow, Maine) in the 72nd minute to make it an 8-0 final.
Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) earned the shutout win for Thomas, making three saves. Kaitlin Boucher took the loss, allowing six goals on 15 shots.
