Box Score BANGOR, ME – The Thomas College women's soccer team was shutout by Husson, 4-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Tuesday afternoon.
The Terriers drop to 1-7 (1-2 NAC) overall in the loss while the Eagles improve to 3-5 (2-1 NAC) in the victory.
Husson took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute of the first half as Allison Carey netted a goal to give her team the lead at half-time. Thomas was outshot by the Eagles by a 27-4 margin in the first half.
In the second half the Eagles took over the scoring by adding three unanswered goals. Leah Hibbard chipped in a goal at the 68th minute while Hannah Clough scored two goals in the 81st and 89th to finish the scoring at 4-0.
Terrier goalkeeper Paige Leary (Palermo, Maine / Erskine Academy) had strong game in net, making 19 saves in the defeat while Husson keeper Angela Daigle turned aside three shots. For the contest, Husson outshot Thomas 47-6 while having an 11-2 advantage in corners.
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday, October 1, as they host the University of Maine at Farmington in a 3:30 p.m. NAC matchup at Smith Field.
