Box Score WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to Maine Maritime, 3-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest Tuesday night at Smith Field.
In the loss the Terriers fall to 1-6 (1-1 NAC) on the season while the Mariners improve to 3-3-1 (1-0 NAC). Eryn Doiron recorded a goal and an assist in the victory for Maine Maritime.
In the seventh minute, the Mariners got on the board first as Olivia Paquette fired a top-shelf goal on a shot from 25 yards out for 1-0 lead. Maine Maritime added to their lead as Doiron settled a pass at the top of the box from Susana DeFrank and beat Terrier keeper Paige Leary (Palermo, ME / Erskine Academy).
The Mariners added an insurance marker in the 58th minute as Makayla Lewis received a pass in the box from Doiron and sent a shot just inside the left post to finish the scoring at 3-0.
Leary was big in goal for the Terriers but was given the loss in a 15 save performance while Maggie McConkey earned the win for the Mariners, stopping two shots. Maine Maritime outshot Thomas 27-5.
The Terriers will travel to Husson next Tuesday, September 27, as they continue their North Atlantic Conference schedule in a 5:00 p.m. game.
