Mules Shutout Terriers 3-0

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's soccer was shutout 3-0 in a non-conference matchup at Colby College on Wednesday night.

The loss holds the Terriers winless in their non-conference schedule as they fall to 0-5 while the Mules improve to 2-1.

The Mules got on the board early in the first half at the 13th minute when Lindsay Ayers (Lewisburg, PA) setup Laura Arnold (Dallas, TX) for a goal and a 1-0 lead.  The score remained the same going into the second half with the Mules holding a 12-3 advantage in shots.

Colby added to their lead at the 60th minute as Katherine Senechal (Saco, ME) scored on an assist from Hannah Brozdowksi (Easton, CT) for her first goal of the season.  The Mules tallied another late in the game in the 87th minute on a goal from Jillian Fleischer (Smithtown, NY) to complete the scoring at 3-0.

Senior keeper Paige Leary (Palermo, ME / Erskine Academy) made 12 saves in goal for the Terriers in the loss while Samantha Rizzo (Swampscott, MA) made two saves in the victory for the Mules.  Colby outshot Thomas heavily by a 29-4 margin and held a 12-3 advantage in corners. 

The Terriers will hit the road for the weekend as they look to open up their North Atlantic Conference schedule on Saturday, September 17, in a 3:30 p.m. contest at Johnson State.
