Bengals Blank Terriers 6-0

FORT KENT, ME-- The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to the undefeated University of Maine at Fort Kent, 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In the loss, Thomas drops to 0-4 in 2016 while the Bengals continued their undefeated start, winning their six consecutive game, conceding only four goals in that time.

Striker Sherifatu Sumaila scored four goals, including her first hat trick in a Bengal uniform to power UMFK to victory. UMFK scored three first half goals four and a half minutes apart to break open a tie game, starting in the 14th minute. Catherine Bruno added two goals and Kendra Freund added two assists. Marie-Laurence Montagne, Jennifer Cudjoe and Mac Carbajal each added an assist.

Thomas keeper, Paige Leary (Palermo, ME / Erskine Academy) turned in a fine performance coming up with 17 saves as the Bengals peppered the Terriers goal, out shooting them, 46-1.  UMFK freshman keeper Katie Condon picked up her first win and shut out in goal for the bangles.

The Terriers return to the pitch Sunday, September 11, as they travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
