Box Score WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's soccer team was blanked 4-0 by New England College in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
In the loss, the Terriers fall to 3-11 (2-4 NAC) while the Pilgrims stay unbeaten in NAC play at 10-5-1 (7-0-1 NAC).
The Pilgrims broke open the scoring in the 22nd minute of the first half as Jaycie Triandafilou tapped in a corner pass from Rachel Thomas for a 1-0 lead. The Terriers defense held strong to finish the half, keeping the score a one-goal game.
Beginning in the 52nd minute, the Pilgrims notched three consecutive goals in a four-minute span from Michaela Pomeroy and two from Triandafilou to complete the hat trick, finishing the scoring at 4-0.
Senior Paige Leary (Palermo, Maine / Erskine Academy) made 11 saves in the effort for Thomas while Mackenzie Meegan stopped one shot in the win for the Pilgrims. New England College outshot the Terriers 27-1 while having a 10-1 advantage in corners.
The Terriers will host Colby-Sawyer for Senior Day in a 12:00 p.m. NAC contest on Sunday, October 23 at Smith Field.
