Box Score WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to the University of Maine at Fort Kent 8-0 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Smith Field. Goalkeeper Paige Leary registered 21 saves in the loss.
The Bengals got on the board eight minutes into the contest on a goal by Catherine Bruno. Fort Kent added three more goals in the first to give the Bengals a 4-0 lead at the half.
The Bengals continued the scoring just over a minute into the second half on a goal by Marie Montage. The visitors added two more goals over the following ten minutes to extend their lead, then the Thomas defense was able to keep the score at 7-0 until the closing minutes of the game. Fort Kent added one more goal with three minutes remaining to push their victory to 8-0.
Fort Kent goalie Michelle Delgadillo earned the win and recorded one save while Leary was tagged with the loss.
The Terriers return to action on Friday, September 11 when they host the University of Maine at Presque Isle in a non-conference, 7:00 PM game on Smith Field.
